Expectations

Faith Formation Program Expectations for Parents and Students

For Parents:

As the primary educators of your children in the Catholic faith, your active involvement is essential to their spiritual growth. We ask that you:

  • Ensure your child attends class regularly and arrives on time, recognizing that consistency in faith formation nurtures a deeper relationship with Christ.
  • Communicate any special needs or circumstances that may affect your child’s participation, so we may serve them with compassion and understanding.
  • Be an active participant in your child’s journey of faith—pray with them, discuss what they learn, and encourage their spiritual development.
  • Get to know your child’s catechist and offer support when volunteers are needed for projects or activities. (Please follow the Safe Environment Certification and volunteer guidelines.)
  • Model Christian behavior at all times, whether in the classroom, at parish events, or in daily life. Let your words and actions reflect the love of Christ.
  • Support classroom activities and discussions by engaging respectfully and asking questions that promote faith and understanding.
  • Respect all individuals and property, fostering a community of kindness, humility, and reverence.

For Students:

As young disciples of Christ, you are called to grow in faith, knowledge, and love. We expect them to:

  • Attend class regularly and be prepared, bringing any materials or assignments needed to participate fully.
  • Engage actively in discussions and activities, seeking to understand and live out the teachings of Jesus.
  • Treat others with respect and dignity, as each person is made in the image and likeness of God.
  • Respect the classroom environment and parish property, showing gratitude for the space where we gather to learn and worship.

Program Attendance & Communication Expectations

Participants are expected to attend all scheduled sessions to ensure meaningful participation and spiritual growth. If your child will be absent, please notify the Faith Formation Office in advance and inform us of their expected return. If your family is relocating or transferring to another parish, kindly update our office so we can assist with a smooth transition.

We also ask that parents and sponsors maintain consistent communication with program staff and adhere to all deadlines for submitting required forms and documents. Timely responses and cooperation are essential to ensure a smooth experience for everyone involved.
